Cards drawn in an overview spread:
Card 1, Page of Cups
Card 2, Nine of Swords
Card 3, The Lovers
Card 4, Four of Pentacles
Interpretation:
Card One, YOUR CURRENT SITUATION: The Page of Cups represents an imaginative person who is able to find inspiration in the most unlikely places. You should be open to ideas which spring from unexpected situations. The Page of Cups can also signify the beginning of a new project, albeit in its nascent form of a sudden idea. Your inspiration has arrived or is just about to.
Card Two, WHAT IS HOLDING YOU BACK: Despite these flashes of inspiration, a profound feeling of worry may be preventing you from moving forward. The Nine of Swords is a card of stress and anxiety. Something is weighing on your mind, or perhaps you a feel a distinct lack of self confidence. Bear in mind though that Swords are to do with mental energy – so the Nine of Swords represents anxieties in the mind, rather than an outside force holding you back. You need to change something about the way you think.
Card Three, WHAT YOU SHOULD BE FOCUSING ON: Put simply, you need to focus on what you love – that could be an activity, an idea, a hobby… In the context of a question about career it is also useful to think of The Lovers as signifying some kind of harmonious union. This could be a partnership with a like-minded collaborator for instance. The Lovers also suggests the idea of making contact – you need to reach out to others for assistance or collaboration.
Card Four, NEAR FUTURE OUTCOME: As an outcome for a question about money and business, the Four of Pentacles has both positive and negative connotations. He represents stability and financial security – someone who has acquired wealth and is unlikely to squander it. However, he is clutching to his coins desperately – he has become a miser, obsessed with material gain at the expense of all else. This card should be taken both as a signifier of good fortune to come – but also as a warning – those who worship Mammon too fervently risk becoming its slave. Everybody, including you, will benefit if you share your profits among the community.
