Interpretation:

Card One,  LOVE: The Chariot is a highly contradictory card: he implies movement yet his wheels are stationary, his body encased in armour. A situation which was once freely moving has now come to a halt and you will want to move on, perhaps less hindered by the burden of your heavy armour. Time perhaps to look for inspiration from a different area of your life… which brings us on to…

Card Two,  CAREER: A fast-moving and busy time awaits. You maybe entering a period of intense activity, inundated with tasks but fully equipped with the desire and energy to throw yourself into them. Be wary of making snappy decisions in all the excitement. Keep an eye on incoming messages – some important news may be on it’s way.

Card Three,  HEALTH & WELL BEING, A focusing of creative energy will fuel you at this potentially stressful time, but it must be focused in the right direction. A choice must be made in your physical regime to accommodate the additional energy spent on work – it is time to be more focussed on your body and it’s needs: Perhaps by taking up a new activity which acts as both an exercise and a way to relieve stress.

Summary: The heaviness you may feel in your love life is giving way to new excitement on the career front. Just make sure to balance your energy wisely and be careful not to make any rash decisions.

Interpretation:

January -  April

An idea or project, the seeds of which may have been sewn in the previous year, is beginning to grow.  You are now waiting patiently for your effort to be rewarded and your project to come into fruition.

May – August

Around the middle of the year, the tension caused by of all this waiting may make you feel as though you are mentally “losing balance”.  However, the creative spirit which has been nurturing your ideas can help you to keep your grip.  Keeping this in mind will cradle any fall.

September – December

With Autumn comes a sudden urge to escape the stresses of the Summer.  Although others may see your decisions as rash or impulsive, you will be sure to salvage a small cutting from the branches of the idea/project from the year’s 1st quarter and take this with you.  A much greater creative energy will follow you on your sudden journey and although this may mean re-starting your plans, you will be better equipped in the new year to nurture your project more fully.

The start of the next year sees you at a creative peak.  Very much at the beginning of a new phase but all the more powerful and with much greater potential.

Frankly this tarot wipes the floor with any other so-called gothic or urban decks. Interestingly this is because it nods firmly in the direction of the Marseilles and surrealist traditions- both currently unfashionable in the English-speaking tarot scene.

The ingredients really shouldn’t work: bold computer graphics, collage, an eighties goth/industrial sensibility, humour, and a desire to depict tarot concepts in modern life. But it works. This deck was conceived by Patrick Valenza in his childhood. We eagerly await his next project.
