Tiana’s Cookbook

Tiana's CookbookOf course we love The Princess and the Frog! Well the animation style is beautiful anyway- less said about the characterisations the better…  We enjoyed this tarot sequence, and all the references to Louisiana cooking. Alas the special tarot pack doesn’t seem to be included in the merchandising, but we did discover this wonderful book. Some of the recipes are impressively grown up- including mint juleps, chicken and biscuits, and red beans and rice. Mmmm! The Princess and the Frog: Tiana’s Cookbook: Recipes for Kids

The Deluxe Transitive Vampire

The Deluxe Transitive Vampire: The Ultimate Handbook of Grammar for the Innocent, the Eager and the Doomed

The first edition of this series marked the turningpoint of a new burst of creativity and confidence in US gothdom. The perfect gift for a young student, Karen Elizabeth Gordon‘s classic steamfemme adventure of American English is available quite cheaply if you comb through the secondhand suppliers. There’s also a new edition coming out in the Spring
